Working for a start-up company, Peter Flippen sold software to owners and executives of HVAC companies and enjoyed working with the industry. One thing Peter observed was the increasing rate at which his HVAC clients were either buying businesses or selling their businesses. Little did he know, it was the start of a wave of industry consolidation.
Conveniently, Peter's brother worked as the head of M&A at one of the largest mechanical contractors in the US. After getting his brother’s input, talking with HVAC owners and executives, and frankly, praying about whether he was making a huge mistake, Peter launched IEI Advisors in 2018 naming the company after his father's company, IEI Construction.

With nearly two decades of experience in the facility services industry, Peter founded IEI out of a passion to help HVAC owners exit their businesses. Before starting IEI, Peter owned two businesses and worked for a start-up company. He has a corporate background in management consulting and software sales. Peter has a business degree from the University of Virginia and maintains two industry certifications.

Scott Flippen, Chief Financial Officer, EQUANS
With years of experience in corporate finance, Scott's current position is CFO of EQUANS. In his previous role with Engie, he was directly involved in consolidation acquisitions in the mechanical contracting industry as Head of Acquisitions, Investments and Financial Advisory for Engie in North America. Scott has an MBA from George Washington University and his knowledge of finance in the contracting industry is a key asset to his brother's business.
Aaron Kroll, JD/MBA, Partner, Sterling Point Advisors
Aaron started his career working for an investment bank and then a private equity firm. In these roles, he gained a deep appreciation for small businesses. Later he founded a consulting company specializing in strategy development, marketing, and capital raising for small businesses. Aaron is now a Founder and Partner at Sterling Point Advisors, an M&A advisory firm focused on the lower middle market. Aaron earned a JD from The University of Akron in addition to an MBA, summa cum laude, in Finance. Aaron received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Virginia Tech.
